Cornelius Thomas (Tom) Dorans, born on December 3, 1928 in Port Richmond, in Staten Island, New York, passed away on May 23, 2017, in his home at The Legacy at Willowbend in Plano, Texas.  Tom graduated from Port Richmond High in 1946.  He was drafted into the Army in 1951, serving in Germany during the Korean War.  He went on to receive his Bachelor of Law at St. Johns University, New York in 1957, and his Masters of Law from NYU School of Law, New York in 1962.  Tom practiced law in New York City at Thacher, Proffitt & Wood, LLP until 1966 when he began a career focused in Real Estate Law with The J.C. Penney Company, starting in New York City and then relocating to Plano, Texas in 1988.  He retired from J.C. Penney in 1994 and remained in Plano, Texas. On October 7, 1972 he married Gail Elaine Hines of Stisted Township (Huntsville).
